Some call it "self talk", others "auditory internal dialogue". How rapidly those thoughts cross our minds, much faster than human speech.
As a critic, self-talk makes bad even worse, makes good turn to bad bad, and corrodes self-esteem.
As our coach, self-talk helps us move toward hope, success, and ultimately creates a more engaged self.

- Notice how you are feeling.
Use a scale 1 (minimum) up to 10 (maximum). - Using self-talk, say something kind to yourself. For example, "What a great job I did with that!!"
- Notice if you feel worse, the same, or better. Use your scale again to compare changes.
Next, try this:
- Say those same positive words using the voice of someone who truly loves you. ("Great job!")
- Notice if you feel worse, the same or better. Use your scale to check for changes.
Most of us use self-talk throughout the day. Harness the power of your self-talk to say words that are kind, true and positive.
PS: Avoid all negatives (including "don't" "no" "never"). Our "unconscious" just does not hear them!
